finally the wait is over

who could have guessed it..... hey i did .....my last post though a bit circumspect was open to the fact that fedex gonna surely pass sampras someday. And im so glad he finally did. And not just that he even got back to his numero uno position ....

Seems its all getting back to normal... the kings at the top and the rest of the young pretenders are just left in awe of the genius he is. Though every other tennis fan will have it that RF got lucky... but doesnt all success have a little luck involved.
Yeah the absence of nadal made it easy for the legend but still there was some competition and to be able to stack up 15 grand slams in 6 years is totally awesome .... federer has an impressive stack of records most tennis players will die to even have a part of. The statistics are just astounding for a man who achieved so much over a course of such a short period.
Every other day u can find a big article aimed at finding whose the best but at the end this guy just belittles everyone except ofcourse Rod Laver.
So for the time being all we can do is appreciate this living legend for the grace and magnanimous feeling that he brings to the game of tennis .....

FedeX can and he WiLL

After spending my whole afternoon sitting on an uncomfortable wooden chair watching the Australian open finals, I was dejected more than tired. As a loyal Federer fan I was waiting for this day all this new year.
As everyone I knew Federer would be there the big Sunday. The only question was whether his arch nemesis the Spanish kiddo would scrap thru till there. And for obvious reasons he did that.
So the pair was back on the final stage again. Its kinda happening all too often but no ones complaining. When as a kid I really enjoyed the sampras-agassi rivalry and now I had these two. But this current rivalry is way better than that. The Sampras era had a lot of other players who would sometime or other make upsets. But the fed-kiddo combination is way above the rest. No one even comes close though there are occasional flutters now and then but still these two are like the one.
I’m a Federer fan so will keep out the kid outta this blog. The name Federer brings with it a certain class and perfection with it. For the last 4 years we all had been treated to an near magical tennis by the great, arguably the greatest tennis player of all time( never can be decided). But it hasn't ever been boring at all. Seeing fedex win every time makes you feel the world is still in order. The best still reigning above the rest. The inevitable happening all around. But for one Spanish kid the perfect record was dented. A certain clay specialist was eating into the Federer superiority. But no one did panic. Federer was still the king. We believe he still is.
Then the year 2008 happened. A slam, couple of finals must be an awsm year for any player but for Federer it wasn't. Moreover the loss of numerous status hurt everyone bad. That gave to talks about how Federer has lost that special something. The levels of expectations that Federer had created for the world was hurting him. Though we knew it was time he would bounce back really big. And so the event was the finals of Australian open 2009.
Federer had just crushed two big players on his was to the finals, though there was near tragedy on the way. And the kid too managed to win his way to play on the big Sunday. The game was close as always but I knew he could. The match was a cliffhanger. Smashes were being returned, passing shots were all too common and easy shots gettin missed. After 4 sets when all was even, I was just wishin Federer makes it through. The final started and suddenly the Spanish ghost overwhelmed Federer. The shots went awry, the serve blemished and everything roger went wrong. :( :( . At the end fedex had again failed to get around the intimidating Spanish opponent.
It just seems Federer has some Spanish mental block. Just can't get through. But being a loyal fed fan I know he'll find a way. He just can do it and he will do it.
